Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I have noticed that learning is a completely different experience when you are moving around vs. when you are seated at a desk. For some students - especially those who struggle to focus - being able to stand and write problems with a whiteboard rather than on paper can make a significant difference in their engagement.

I have already seen huge benefits with giving students handheld whiteboards, and (as pictured in my classroom photo) the shelves at the back of my room are going to be removed soon, as I will be rearranging my room so then entire back wall is a whiteboard.

My hope is that I can have problems ready for students to solve on the back wall for in-class activities. Lots of possibilities!

My students are special because they do their best, even when they don't always feel like it. It's hard work being a student, and they persevere.
