Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I work as the special ed teacher in an Integrated Co-teaching 4th grade assignment. The students I work with have a wide range of abilities and backgrounds. Many of them are English language learners from immigrant families.

Throughout the course of the day I rotate with my class to three classrooms.I have up to six special education students in my class that I need to pull into a small group.

This allows them focus more on the work.

We see the math, science, and ELA teachers for one hour each. I like to pull my special education students in their own group and I do not have my own board to model work. I need a white board specifically on wheels because I travel.

Each of my students has something special and unique to contribute. They are willing to learn and are always engaged. I believe this white board will help them see their work being modeled which will help them even more gain knowledge. Modeling is a huge part of special education. My students are visually learners and this white board will be great advantage to them.

My Project

This whiteboard will be used everyday during the school week . This will allow me to take my group of special education students into the a small group and teach them from the whiteboard. This will let them visually see examples. Modeling is a big part of teaching special education. This will allow me to model division problems, multiplication problems, and how to write an essay using an introduction, body and conclusion paragraphs. I can also take the white board in the hallway to teach if the classroom gets to loud if us. This will be very useful and will help me a lot.
