My Project

In my classroom, I work with a diverse group of students, including immigrants, refugees, and English language learners (ELLs) who often face challenges in acquiring language proficiency. A whiteboard and erasers are essential tools that can help break down language barriers by providing a visual aid to reinforce new vocabulary, grammar structures, and key concepts. These tools will allow me to create interactive lessons where students can engage in real-time practice, improving their comprehension and retention of the material. By writing out words, phrases, and diagrams on the whiteboard, students will gain the opportunity to visually connect language to meaning, enhancing their learning experience.

This project will directly benefit ELL students by creating a more dynamic and inclusive learning environment.

With the whiteboard, I can facilitate group discussions and collaborative activities that promote language use in a low-pressure setting. Visual learning is especially critical for ELL students who may struggle with traditional lecture-based instruction. The whiteboard will also enable me to provide immediate feedback during language drills and writing exercises, ensuring that students can see their progress and correct mistakes as they practice. This simple but powerful resource will foster language development, boost confidence, and ultimately support their integration into the classroom and community.
