Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We are a small K–8 school. We have a very hardworking staff that is dedicated to helping our students reach their potential academically. We provide a rigorous academic to help better prepare our students for their future academic careers in high school and college. We are very lucky to have students who are very dedicated to their school work. They are willing to be challenged, and to learn from each other. Besides the academic side, they are also very talented and great athletes.

My Project

Having three white boards stationed around the classroom would be extremely helpful for my students. The white boards will provide a place where my students can share their mathematical thinking. It would provide a place where students can collaborate together and share their thoughts on how to approach a problem. Students can challenge each other reasoning, they can confirm and extend each other reasoning. This will lead the students to learning from each other. It would provide a place where students can collaborate together and share their thoughts on how to approach a problem. The boards would also be used to conduct small group lessons. We have many students who are at different grade levels in the class. Being able to have more than one teacher working in the same classroom to help meet our students learning needs with the use of the boards is amazing.
