Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
White boards and markers will help build my students' mathematical confidence as they work through solving math problems. White boards provide amazing visuals and allow my students and me to easily track progress. The small white boards are ideal for individuals to solve problems and the larger boards will be hung on the walls for group work. The dry erase boards clean easily and can be reused many times.
My main goal for using white boards is to help the students develop critical thinking skills, increase their problem solving abilities, and help them become more actively engaged in math class.
The pencils will allow students to record their work and key vocabulary. The students will take meaningful notes related to work that is done on the white boards. Recording the key information will allow the students to be more successful on assessments. The folders will help the students keep these notes and other classroom documents organized. In addition, the folders will be a portfolio that showcases the students' skills and achievements.
