Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are exceptional, extraordinary, excellent and I could go on and on. We are a self-contained unit and all students have an Individualized Education Plan. We started a business this year, and to witness their excitement and shine leaves me in awe.

I am an ordinary teacher, teaching extraordinary students.

They are students with various disabilities, however, they are not defined by their disabilities. They strive and never give up, they are my reminder of the beauty of life.

My Project

Our students have begun the first every food delivery service for our faculty and staff. These are students with various disabilities working together for their futures. These materials will assist them to continue to grow the business. The insulated shopping carts and totes are for food transportation, which will be easier for them to carry and keep the food either hot/cold. The laptop, printer, and laminating machine are for them to complete the paperwork and correspondence. The students handle every aspect of the business. They named the business, designed the logo, send all communication, collect/count money, complete required documentation and continue to brainstorm ways to improve overall.

By donating to our project, you will be helping to increase their independence and employability skills.

They will be able to learn skills that will assist them in obtaining jobs and careers. My students overcome daily challenges due to their disabilities. They continue to strive to do better and overcome their obstacles. They do not let their disabilities define them and are my inspiration. This opportunity allows them so much more than just materials. It allows to express themselves in ways they didn't have before. It will provide them to learn new skills and tap into existing skills.
