My Students

These books on CD are being requested to go with the listening center I have requested for our classroom. I personally only have a few books on CD so I have to build a collection for my preschoolers to use. The felt board story tellers will be a wonderful addition to our circle time lessons on literature.

My preschoolers are from one of the lowest income areas in Southern California.

They are mostly second language learners. This is their first time in a school environment. They absolutely LOVE school. When my students are at school they know that they are safe and going to have fun learning. They are such sweet students and have an undying love of learning.

My Project

The books on CD will just enhance their love of literature. For preschoolers to be able to sit down and listen to their favorite story while holding the book and looking at the illustrations will be such an enriching center for them. In addition my second language learners will be learning so much while listening to a fluent speaking narrator tell the story in English. The educational possibilities are endless with these materials. My felt story tellers will just add another layer to their language acquisition. To be able to hear the story the story again and see the story line unfold on the felt board will be such a wonderful lesson and experience.

My project is so important on so many levels.

The enrichment, language acquisition, Literacy skills, and love of reading are all interwoven with these materials. They will be such a nice addition to my preschool classroom.
