My Students

I have a very diverse group of students who come from a variety of backgrounds, countries and cultures and reading allows them to use their imagination, create a world view and look out through the eyes of others. They work hard and are eager to learn.

My Project

I am trying to fill my classroom library with tons of books to give my students various options on all levels. These books would be loved and appreciated by all students in my class! Especially in today’s crazy world, children need ways to escape, connect, and find strong characters to emulate. When the world is overwhelming, kids can read a myriad of books, finding characters and examples that help model kindness, empathy, perseverance and joy. Students can read about people who face adversity-here and across the world-and how they came out whole on the other side. This project would help bolster my classroom library to give my students access to those connections.
