My Project

Help me build a safe and enriching space for my students to meet their sensory needs while addressing crucial social and early social skills. As my caseload of students with communication and learning disabilities grows, so has my space. My new office would love a sensory corner complete with a rug and comfortable bean bag chairs for students to sit while we learn turn-taking games and delve into stories that promote language development.

The school that I work in serves almost exclusively underrepresented students and has been identified as a high-needs district in terms of its literacy rates.

Earlier intervention in speech and language skills, specifically using evidence-based practices such as child-led play based and narrative based language intervention, is super important in helping these students thrive!
