Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are developing their love of reading and writing. They are encouraged to read and write independently on a daily basis.

My students struggle academically.

The majority of my students have been classified as special needs or English language learners. They have difficulty reading and comprehending text and consequently, have fallen substantially below grade level. My school strives to give its students all of the skills necessary for them to achieve academic success, with limited resources. We are located in a community where it can sometimes be difficult for its young people to thrive academically, economically, socially, and emotionally.

My Project

My students will be able to utilize the document camera during ELA lessons in order to further differentiate their instruction. We will be able to view and project various texts from the camera so that we can work collaboratively to address individual academic areas.

Donations to this project will improve my classroom because my students will be given access to more differentiated materials and resources.

It will change their lives for the better since they will be provided with a more academically challenging and supportive learning environment.
