Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students have more of a chance learning about research at home then they do in the classroom. I do not have one computer in the classroom for students to use.

I teach at a Tile 1 school and the students fall into the low socioeconomic range.

Since the school's API score is linked with the local Magnet it gives the impression that the school is high achieving, which is a false reality. Therefore, we are limited on funding. I do not have one working computer in my classroom for students to use.

My Project

I use the Group Inquiry Investigation Model in my classroom so students can utilize the Critical and Creative Thinking Skills. One important part of the model is the research phase. At this time my students can not do have access to Internet research in the classroom.

If I can get this laptop for my classroom the students will be allowed to conduct research for their projects.

I know that one computer for 34 students will not do the job, but at least it is a start.
