I teach art to over 850 elementary school students in a year round school in Wake County, NC. When we are learning about artists from around the world, I often hear "Where is that?" I have a small laminated map from a National Geographic Magazine, but that is not a good enough explanation for some of my students. I would love to be able to show students where different artist and artists came from by showing them on a globe. I am asking for a globe with raised mountain ranges because I think the tactile nature of that kind of globe would be great for many of my students. If I have a globe in my classroom I will also be able to let my international students show us where they came from before they came to us. Please help me to make art history more meaningful for my students, and thank you for taking the time to read my proposal!
