My Project

In my class, our goal is for every student to reach their potential as curious scientists and conscientious stewards of the environment around them. One major area of focus for us is the New York watershed. When students enter our class, most of them haven't given much thought about where their clean drinking water comes from or how precious a resource water is.

The watershed tour kit will help students study the journey of their drinking water and explore their role in protecting and conserving it.

Students will follow their water from the mountains upstate all the way to their faucets in New York City, testing how it changes and considering how human activity influences water quality.

The watershed tour kit provides a hands-on opportunity for students to connect to an important issue for them and their communities. As informed citizen scientists, they'll be ready to make a difference!
