My Students

"Some people dream of meeting their favorite artists. I get to teach mine!" - anonymous 460 students call the art room home at F S A+ Elementary. They deserve the best environment possible for learning and creating!

Being a city-wide arts magnet, we are truly diverse!

Our learners come from all over our city and world. We host a language academy program for newcomers to the country and the Deaf/ Hard of Hearing program for our district. We believe that all children can learn through the arts. We pride ourselves on our unique arts integration model. Besides visiting a music, theater, dance or art specialist everyday, the students also benefit from arts integrated math and reading lessons team taught by their classroom teacher and an arts specialist.

My Project

My students are in need of a clean, organized rug that they can sit on during instruction time. When they enter the art room I want them to feel comfortable and take pride in the space. If they have a rug with an organized seating grid they will know right where to sit when they arrive.

For some elementary aged students, transitioning to a new classroom can be chaotic and create anxiety.

If they are able to enter a new space that looks inviting, clean and with a specific spot for them to sit it will help them with the transition. Learning and creating time will be maximized!
