My Students

Do you remember how warm and inviting your classrooms were when you were going to school? Did your classroom always have the supplies you needed to help you learn? Imagine a classroom, without basic supplies, such as pencils and paper.

My students have multiple disabilities ranging from hearing and speech impairments, physical disabilities, autism, down syndrome to mental retardation.

However, they do not allow their disabilities to impede their thirst for knowledge and their yearning to be as independent as possible.

My Project

I am requesting basic school supplies such as pencils, paper, ink, batteries, scissors, glue sticks, paintbrushes and border to continue to foster a warm and inviting learning environment. The ink and paper, will help provide worksheets for my students. The pencils will replace the three inch "eraserless" pencil nubs that they are currently using. The batteries will be used for our hot dot pens, to improve letter and number recognition and the scissors, paintbrushes and glue stick will be used for various arts and crafts project. Lastly, the borders will be used to highlight and display my students work.

My students needs go far beyond those of an "average" student.

As an educator I do what I can to secure the materials they need to simply learn better. By fulfilling this request you will be providing my students with the basic school supplies that every child should have in their classroom.
