This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
We are all out of pencils again! Pencils seem to disappear from my class. My students are always busy at work finishing pencils by the minute.
I am in my fourth year of teaching.
I teach a 4th grade ICT class. I am the special education teacher and I have a general education teacher. My classroom demographic is diverse. My students are of ages 8-10. They have been diagnosed with learning disabilities (speech/language impairment, cognitive/developmental delays, etc.), sensory impairments (visual, auditory), related health alerts (ADD/ADHD) and emotional/behavioral disorders (EBD). I have a class of 12 children this year, 10 boys and 2 girls. The other 15 students are general education students who are struggling learners.
My Project
Unfortunately my students’ parents are unable to provide them with the basic supplies for school. Because of the budget cuts facing our schools my school is unable to provide us with necessary supplies. Basic supplies like pencils and a sharpener are not available and unfortunately I have to purchase these tools. It is unfair that my students have to be at school without the supplies that are necessary to learn. These basic supplies will allow my students to engage in daily activities without worrying about coming to school without them.
With your support my students will have the necessary learning tools needed to succeed.
These supplies will alleviate the stress on the students and parents and ensure that the students are at school, ready to learn!
