This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
A normal day in our room is filled with active 3rd graders. They are seeking to find fulfillment in academics. The end goal for these students is to find a LOVE and escape from reality in their school work!
The majority of the students in my classroom come from single family, low socio-economic homes.
Although their schema and ability to make personal life connections is lower, these students have hearts of gold. They genuinely care about each other, and work hard to help each other improve daily. Our school strives to make the time that the students spend in the building or at various functions, the happiest times they have. Not only do we strive for lasting memories, we strive for excellence in our academics.
My Project
The students would use the printer to print their work. Due to a school fire, my students don't have a way to print their projects and papers they complete. Though much of our work in online, it is much easier for an 8 or 9 year old to hold a sheet of paper in their hand when looking for ways to make their writing better. My class loves to write and google for images of their topic online. With the colored printer, the students could not only see where they need to edit, but they could print off a picture to go with their report.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
