Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are the best of them. I know every teacher says that but I truly mean it. I teach special education in the math department so my students work through both understanding content and working with their disabilities every class period. They're hard-working and deserve so much more than what I can provide on my own. The calculators would be used to support an accommodation of being able to use a calculator on assignments and quizzes/tests. These supplies can also be used for standardized tests and college entrance exams. The fruit snacks, Gatorade, and chips will be used to support our token economy. Students are rewarded for participating in pro-social and pro-academic activities like being on time, completing the task at hand, and supporting their classmates.

The donation will help create and maintain a supportive, pro-social classroom culture.

By offering things they are willing to work for, we have significantly more buy-in from the students which makes learning things like math SO MUCH EASIER. Snacks and calculators will provide a foundation for our kids to learn.
