This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I teach a 7th/8th bridge, bilingual, special education class. My students' needs include speech and language impairment, attention deficit, hyperactivity and mild emotional disturbance. Some of the students in this class have recently come from Spanish speaking countries, others are students with interrupted formal education.

The previous pandemic situation increased the number of challenges my students face daily.

Academic and developmental needs, access to resources and the use of paper, as we used to do it the old school ways. Also, the need to master the use of a pencil and not to forget how to write. Currently, my students are about to learn about the revolutionary war in Social Studies. They use computers and the internet to complete many of the assignments in school. My goal is to have my students use more physical assignments (paper) and include more visuals within those assignments. This is the reason we need a color printer, in order to be able to print worksheets in color showing them a clear picture and being able to take that worksheet home and show their parents what they are working on, as many of them don't have a computer and or internet home.

At the moment I don't have a printer in my classroom, and it makes certain tasks difficult. For instance, when I need to print an assignment, graphic organizer or chart l have to request copies to the main office and it can take time to be ready.

This printer brings exceptional and high quality printing and it is power efficiency. This printer is ideal for printing those assignments with visuals about the revolutionary war and more. For example, I could easily create a worksheet and print right there instead of waiting for
