Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I will work pushing into classrooms working with English language learners this year. The students in my community are funny, kind, creative, bright, and so hardworking! They are so eager to learn and they inspire me with their resilience. These students face many challenges, however they are so motivated and really know how to think outside the box! Many of my students will speak a language other than English and my goal is to provide them hands on learning through technology and inquiry!

My Project

Engaging in hands on experiences is crucial to learning. Students make meaning by constructing their own learning. My ELL's will be at different levels when I work with them, however my goal is to get them communicating and creating language through active investigation. This donation will give me ample materials/resources to instruct my students. I have seen past students' eyes glow at the sight of getting messy and involved in their learning! When students are using the build a crayon word activity, they will physically make the word! The Fairy-Tale STEM kit will allow my students to learn about fairy tales and even make up their own stories in their native language or English! Kids learn in different ways, but we know this famous quote, "When I do, I LEARN!".
