Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The students in my classroom are hungry for experimentation and exploration. Until this year, science has been either taught from a book for explored very minimally due to the lack of supplies. Science brings a sense of exploration like no other and gives my students opportunities to work with their hands.

There’s something so fascinating about hands-on science experiments and projects.

They make learning so meaningful and so much fun!

My 4th and 5th grade students are in need of basic supplies such as: safety goggles, small magnifying glasses, borax and liquid glue to further investigate the properties of matter by dissolving everyday chemicals to make solutions and explore simple yet surprising chemical reactions.

With these supplies, my hope is for my students to build conceptual models for the particulate nature of matter.
