My Students

My students come to school everyday motivated and eager to learn. I have a group of students who make me laugh and inspire me to become a better teacher everyday. Most of my students come from humble families where education is held to high standards. My students are special because I am able to challenge them on a daily basis and they are always willing to accept the challenge. We also love to share our experiences and really create a home-like atmosphere in the classroom. My students are extremely caring and compassionate towards one another because of the norms we have set in place in our classroom.

My students teach me new things daily; they are curious, creative, enthusiastic learners that are willing to take risks.

My students know that they are in charge of their learning and their ability to explore new and challenging tasks. My students have grit. They do not give up easily. I admire this quality about my students because they are not easily discouraged and their spirit is not easily dampened.

My Project

The beauty of a document camera is that all students will be able to benefit from seeing anywhere in the classroom. A document camera will also make a world of difference for the students to share their work. Instead of students holding a miniature picture up at the front of the room, their work can be shared for all to see on the document camera.

I have a class full of engaged and excited learners who LOVE to share their ideas and show off their unique creations.

My students absolutely love art and directed drawing activities. The ELMO document camera will be an invaluable resource for when we have directed draw assignments. The phrases "I can't see!" or "Can you make it bigger please?" will soon be a thing of the past with the use of a document camera.

I truly feel a document camera will also be able to help my kiddos who are a bit on the reserved side. They will be able to display their work with confidence. I will also use the document camera as a tool to create a variety of learning experiences. For example, I can use the document camera to work through complex word problems using the CUBES strategy and helping students break down the layers of what the problem is asking them. Modeling for students on the document camera will be much easier than doing it on the white board.

We are currently in the middle of a Dahl novel study. I'd love to use a document camera to project the book for students who do not have it in front of them. This will help my visual learners read along with me instead of just listening to the story. I will use the doc. camera to cater to many learning styles.
