This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Help us to expand our horizons by learning about current events and places in our wonderful world!

My students attend an inner-city school.

They come from diverse backgrounds and cultures. Approximately one-fourth of the children are Hispanic and one-half African-American. Many do not have books or magazines readily available for them at home. They are so eager to learn. However, they face many challenges in their lives at this early age.

My Project

Time for Kids weekly news magazine will encourage my students to learn about the world around them in a fun way. This weekly magazine will give them real life events and help them strengthen their nonfiction reading skills. This weekly magazine will also tie into the state standards for reading and social studies which we are covering in class. It is my hope that this weekly reading project will encourage my students to want to become better readers. Time for Kids will spark an interest in my students to want to learn more about the wonderful world in which they live.

My students need Time for Kids, weekly magazine to build their non-fiction literacy skills and to help in learning about the world in which they live.

Reading Time for Kids will be an enjoyable and enriching time for my students.
