My Students

When I left school on March 13, I thought I would see my students in a few weeks. I sent them home with a paper packet to keep them working until we came back. I didn't think we would be out of school for the rest of the year. Little did we know what would happen in the months that followed.

My students are a great group of 6th and 8th graders who love to learn.

Many of them are eager to return to "regular" school in August, but that doesn't look like it is going to happen. Distance learning has been easier for some and more difficult for others. Most were able to get a device from school but many lack a quiet space to learn or reliable wifi. It's been tough for them. I have been helping them through this process and they are becoming better at it every day. They email me daily asking for help with their device, with math, and sometimes just to chat.

My Project

I had to learn a lot in a short amount of time on how to make teaching math work from a distance. I had to recreate many of my lessons so they would work using Zoom and Schoology. I need the tools to make distance learning work. My current laptop is having many issues and is not able to get the job done. This MacBook Pro would allow me to plan lessons, create curriculum and to teach amazing lessons on Zoom.

I have the knowledge, experience and creativity to make this work.

I just need the technology to keep my students learning all year long. This MacBook Pro will help me do all I need to do from home to make distance learning work for my students. I am an expert in making my own materials on my computer and this will allow me to keep doing that. Now, more than ever, being creative and innovative will be key.
