My Students

They are a blossoming new group of 3rd grade students who has a fresh new passion for their education. They are learning how to juggle the many names placed on them, but who I try to model to be the best person they can be. They attend a school who does the best with what they have for their students.

I work with a group students who many push to the side due to their behaviors, but who I try to to pull their amazing, unique gifts to help them impact this world for the better in the future .

Many of these students are labeled based on their zip code, housing they live in, and preconceived ideas about who they are, but they are so much more. When taught and guided these students bring powerful questions, fascinating ideas, and a smile to your face. These students are just asking for a chance to show their greatness, and I just want the world to see how great they are!

My Project

This year, I am trying to engage my students in their literacy skills in other ways rather than having to always read and respond on paper. I want my students to know that reading is fun and is and applied in all walks of life.

Through the board games, students will be able to apply the reading skills we are learning in class in fun board games increasing their ability to use their comprehension skills quickly.

The folder activities are engaging independent and partner games that are great for students who like to work alone or with only one other person. Since I have a large class this will make sure students are engaged while working alone.

Lastly all of these games range across 1-3 grade reading levels, allowing my low students to benefit, and also allowing my on level students to flourish and feel challenged.
