Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Give this project a boost!
A chain reaction of support starts with one share.
Our students are from a lower social economic background and make up an almost 50/50 African American and Hispanic population. They do not always have the same advantages as most other students, sometimes struggling in their home lives, thus presenting greater challenges in the classroom.
These kids are super excited about learning and closing the achievement gap to mimic the accomplishments of their neighboring sister schools.
Our students have recently been affected by Hurricane Harvey, including home displacement, loss of material goods, and missing foundation time in the first few weeks of the school year. Hopefully this project will lend a hand in helping our students get back on track with the necessary learning tools needed to be successful far beyond the classroom.
My Project
These drawing and coloring utensils will provide our students with the opportunity to create beautiful images in a range of colors beyond what has been provided to them. With these materials, the students will be able to learn new and better techniques in blending and shading, giving more life to their work.
These drawing materials will allow our students to create images that mirror their own image in skin tone and color.
This project will also provide our students with the same competitive edge, when entering the same contests as the other surrounding schools, by having them use the same high quality materials.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
