My Students

We have an amazing group of talented, dedicated, and diverse students that compete at a high level despite operating on a shoe-string budget. Our students consistently earn high accolades through sheer force of will. Somehow they always rise to the challenge and hold their own against properly funded schools across the country using their ingenuity and ability. With the proper support our school could become a premier STEM program in our city.

As part of the largest high school in the Philadelphia School District, our school is home to over 3,500 students with over 50 languages spoken and just as many socioeconomic backgrounds.

School provides a safe space where students' differences are embraced and students can focus on their learning and growth as scientists and as emerging adults.

My Project

My students have access to a laptop cart for use in the classroom. Unfortunately the charging port in the cart that we have has died. We can only charge 12 laptops at a time and with a classroom that services 7 classes a day, this is not enough.

As the use of technology-aided learning increases, it becomes more and more important to have access to reliable resources.

It is essential for students to have their own devices for use on independent projects and assignments while they are in school because, unfortunately, many do not have access to computers at home. Please assist me in removing barriers from student success.
