This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Do you remember what it was like to go to the library for the first time and pick up a book? Imagine making your own book in class!

My students are smart first graders ready to begin the school year in writer's workshop.

Every day they participate in writer's workshop where they write their very own stories. Each month they learn a new unit of study in writing where they end the unit by turning their writing into a book and publishing it.

My Project

A book binding machine would allow my students to actually bind their own books and get them ready for publication day. They would be very motivated to write if they know their end product would be an actual book. Parents, teacher and other students will be delighted to read their books especially if they look like real ones.

Your help and collaboration would spark a great interest in writing at an early age.

Every student in my class would want to write just to create a book of their own. This project may impact future authors and you can say you were part of it.
