My Students

I teach high school Biology in a small rural community that has been devastated by the recession. But a poor economy does not change the fact that my students need the materials to prepare them for college. The virtual dissections and associated programs will give my kids a competitive advantage.

I teach high school Biology in a small rural community which has really suffered during the recession.

There are approximately 600 students in our school, 62% of them are qualified for free or reduced lunches. They are great kids with a good work ethic and an enthusiasm for learning. They deserve the best scientific equipment that we can provide. They are the future of our country and they will be the generation that reclaims our status as a world leader in science and technology.

My Project

I am requesting a Human Anatomy 3D Lab and Wired Liquid Crystal Glasses so that my students can experience virtual dissections without the problems associated with a real dissection. This program has the support of many Humane Societies and has the added benefit of being less expensive. With this program, my students will be able to see life-like images of human and animal anatomies. My research into this type of instruction indicates that students are engaged and introduced to aspects of Biology that had eluded them before. Please help my students benefit from this instruction. Without your support this program will be impossible.

My students are often discouraged because the media often ranks our state near the bottom in terms of the quality of education provided to our children.

But my students are extremely intelligent and they deserve the chance to overcome the perceived disadvantages of living in an economically challenged state. They are the answer to improving the conditions in our state and they deserve the best educational tools that can be provided. Your generosity will impact a state - not just a school.
