My Students

We are a diverse group of kindergartners in Seattle, WA. Our students come from a variety of ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds, but we all love to learn.

We are cheerful, enthusiastic, and busy in our all-day kindergarten classroom.

Our days are full of literacy, math, science, writing, social studies, movement, and art. Our teacher makes sure to incorporate music, dancing, and play into our learning.

We ask many questions, and want to know as much as we can about every subject. We need to be hands-on and experiential to do our best learning.

My Project

Many of our families have roots in other parts of the United States; many of our families have roots in other countries around the world. Kindergarten students are just learning the concept of countries, and often have misconceptions, or no knowledge of how big the world is.

Having maps and a globe to refer to on a daily basis will be a great benefit to all students.

Having books to read and study will help broaden our knowledge and appreciation of different countries, cultures, and customs.

When a friend comes from or travels to Somalia or Samoa or Egypt, we can learn where that is in relation to our home here in Seattle. We can develop and broaden our global understanding.
