My Students

I teach an amazing group of students with special needs in an urban title one charter school in Baltimore City. They come to school every day excited and ready to learn! They want to learn so much about the world around them and what's beyond the walls of our classroom. However, the students that I work with bring a lot of baggage into our classroom and it is my job to help them leave that baggage at the door, be kids for a while and learn through fun and exciting ways.

My students disabilities range from Autism to Learning Disabilities and I find that the more hands on and interactive learning can be, the more beneficial it is to my students.

Due to their disabilities, I am constantly changing up my teaching practices and finding new and exciting ways to reach and challenge my students without having them become frustrated and give up.

My Project

My students are constantly working on our writing skills throughout the day and are making progress towards our numerous writing goals. In order to make more progress towards these goals, my students need more writing supplies to help them.

These supplies will help them come up with ideas to write about, work on sentence structure as well as adding more details into their writing.

These are all big skills that my students work on and the supplies that are within this project will all work specifically on those skills. My students require a lot of practice in order to master a skill and by being able to give my students more opportunities to practice these skills, they will make more progress towards mastering their goals.
