Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Rebuilding from Hurricane Harvey has been very difficult and slow. We are doing everything we can to support and help families through this transitional time after Harvey. My scholars come ready and eager to learn everyday. I am doing whatever is takes for all of them to be successful and equipped socially and academically.

Scholars now need opportunities to invest and empower in their academic mind set through literacy, technology and math.

Scholars yearn for hands-on explorations that will facilitate thinking and learning. I always strive to find innovative ways to teach my scholars and families ways to connect the whole child and continue encouraging them to love school. We must teach families that education breaks all barriers.

Ninety-five percent of our scholars qualify for free or reduced price lunch. This means that they are living either on or below the poverty level, as well as having English as a second language spoken in the home. Despite scholars living in poverty and having a high population of students with special needs, scholars have the willingness to be a successful everyday in every way.

My Project

By providing my Kinder scholars with the iPads to use during our Kinder Power Hour, this will help to expand and allow them to receive the interventions needed and they will have the opportunity to be challenged in a more innovative way instead of putting a pencil to paper.

Technology allows young scholars to enhance their learning at their own level and pace.

By having the proper tools to assist in differentiation, the reality is that our young scholars will be given the chance to learn at their own pace and push further to go above and beyond their learning potential and goals!
