This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are a sprawling, diverse crew that live in the Bronx. Art is and should be for everyone. As the new Visual Art teacher at this K-5 elementary school, I believe it is especially critical for children to be exposed to the arts to build visual literacy.

Most of my students have never had access to the arts before, and they will be relying on our art classroom for the chance to visually express themselves!

I am so excited at the opportunity to invite young minds to engage in a world of creativity and innovation!

My Project

The art classroom that we have been using is still in need of some basic items to begin using wet medium!

The funnel would be used to transport paint into smaller, more accessible bottles, and the acrylic paint will be used for painting projects!

Some projects that this drying rack would be used for are a story-telling projects, color theory projects, and poetry illustration. The drying rack is especially needed in order to safely dry student work and conserve precious classroom space.

These items are essential tools that help students effectively create work to express their ideas and learning experiences.
