My Project

Our school district recently implemented a new reading program for students in kindergarten through fourth grade. An incredibly important part of this program is the small group support provided by classroom teachers. Last year we saw our second and third-grade students make significant gains in reading achievement through effective whole-group and small-group instruction.

By expanding the number of texts available to our students, we will expand the opportunities they have to read at an appropriate level, boosting their confidence and love of learning.

If fully funded, this Donor's Choose project would provide our school with supplemental texts in three out of the nine reading levels associated with the ARC Core reading program. These informational and literary texts will provide reading opportunities for the majority of classes in our school, as well as boost background knowledge for our English Language Learners.
