My Students

In my classroom students are always actively engaged and ready to learn. Their enthusiasm for learning thrives when lessons contain hands on activities and content relevant to them. I hope that my students achieve all their academic goals they set for themselves last month.

My school is a welcoming and friendly place.

Students are all encouraged to try their best and achieve great things. All staff members recognize that no one is perfect and each person (whether student or staff member) can learn from their mistakes. In my classroom we have a clip chart for daily behavior as well as a star student chart. Positive reinforcement is present throughout my classroom as well as the entire school building.

My Project

The Scholastic readers and Time for Kids texts will certainly help my students to develop their non-fiction reading skills. The content is relevant to the students and current information. As adults we watch the news on a regular basis and theses texts are the equivalent news programming for students. The content is presented in a child friendly and informative way to keep students engaged.

My students will be both grateful and excited to read the weekly readers.

They currently enjoy our daily reading lessons but with the addition of new texts to the classroom, students interest would greatly increase.
