My Students

Every child has capabilities, talents, and strengths; sometimes, all it takes is exposure or motivation. We are a school with a dual-language program. My students inherently care about one another and continually make an effort to improve in all aspects. I hold high expectations for my students; I believe that students will rise to the level of expectation you hold for them.

My hope is that when students leave my classroom, they will leave knowing someone cared about them.

I want them to find that love of learning that can come in any child but needs to be cultivated to grow. Since the COVID-19 pandemic started, we had to adjust our way of teaching and learning in many different ways, from online learning to individual desks. Students are learning to clean up after themselves every time there are rotations, and they are not able to interact as much with peers. They still were troopers and managed to learn lots of new skills.

It's amazing what they've learned so far, and I truly believe they will learn much more with more resources.

My Project

When students have their own set of materials under their desks, they don't get worried about losing them when they transition, and they tend to take care of them for a longer period of time, specially in a dual language immersion environment; since they have to go from one classroom to another every day, they won't be so overwhelmed with what to take or leave and will be more focused on learning and making friends along the way. I want my students to focus more on practicing the language rather than getting things ready to go.
