My Project

Greetings!

I want to start by saying thank you to all of the wonderful people who donate these items.

Your help is greatly appreciated.

The items that you all are helping me purchase will assist me in giving a more hands on approach to learning the skills that I will be teaching this year. This is only my second year at this campus, and last year I was unable to do many of the things that both my students and I desired to do, due to lack of supplies. Unfortunately, I was not aware of this amazing opportunity. Now that I have gained the knowledge of this incredible tool, I wish to provide my students with the tools needed not only to merely learn the material, but to be able to do so in a fun, hands on and productive environment of learning.

We are a STEAM curriculum school, and much of that curriculum revolves around hands on activities and projects.

The hot plate listed will help my 7th graders when we go into our energy unit, and will help me explain the different ways that heat is transferred to an object. The Styrofoam balls and cell models are also materials for my 7th graders. This year, they will be tasked with building their own model cells using the example cells as reference and the balls to actually create their cell. The solar system kit is for my 8th graders as we get ready to dive into all things Earth & Space science. Lastly, the geology collection and storage cart are for my 6th graders. I have a special "scavenger hunt" that my 6th grades will do during their geology unit.
