My Students

My students were once identified by a previous administrator as "dying on the vine." Their particular demographic automatically places them within "at-risk" categories. But what people do not see that faculty and staff at my school see every day, is the hard work and dedication that my students possess. They possess perseverance to continue on when time after time they are doubted! They possess good hearts that care deeply about not only their academics but arts, classmates, music, sports as well!

My Project

Third grade is a pivotal moment for students. It is the transition stage from learning how to read to reading to learn. For this reason, our students are expected to be proficient in reading. Proficiency will by tested and ascertained by our state's Oklahoma State Testing Program. If our students do not do well on this test, they are in jeopardy of being retained. That knowledge alone also causes our students to have very severe test anxiety.

By practicing test preparation measures like the ones from Mastering the OSTP, our students will not only become familiar with the format of the state test, but they will also learn valuable strategies to help put their fears at ease.

Any donation to my project will be greatly appreciated. By helping me provide this to my students, you will provide them with a peace of mind that is unmatched. Thank you in advance.
