Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The students at our school are so AMAZING and special because the majority of them come from many different cultures where they are learning English as a second language! The socioeconomic status in our neighborhoods are low-income and our students are in desperate need of academic resources.

Our students love to explore and be creative in their learning.

They are filled with an excitement and joy to learn! Being a first grader is challenging because the students are making the most growth in first grade! I want to create an exciting and engaging learning environment to help combat these challenges!

My Project

We would love a new pencil sharpener, because ours is broken! We are using individual pencil sharpeners right now, which can take a lot longer to use! We use expo markers daily in our classroom. They are so engaging and the students love this interactive way of learning new content. Because we use these daily in math centers, whole group, and our calendar math, we are running out! Oh no!

Supplies are a vital piece of education.

I would love to get some science safety goggles, because we have "Makers Mondays" where we become scientists for the day! I would love for the students to FEEL like real scientists when they get to put on their safety goggles!
