Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students attend a Title I elementary school located in Houston's diverse community of the East End. The majority of my students come from low-income households and are recent immigrants. They are faced with many challenges both inside and outside of the classroom. My students do not let the obstacles they face prevent them from learning. They have a thirst for knowledge and bring a diverse culture to our school.

My students attend online or face-to-face classes, are eager to learn, and are supportive in helping others learn too.

They love learning and cannot wait to return to school! They really flourish in a classroom that is full of engaging activities that allow them to problem solve and create.

My Project

My classroom has an arts and crafts corner set up in it that my students use for personalizing their notebooks, writing entries and improving class projects, so our scrapbooking supplies run out rather quickly. My students love to express themselves through art and I enjoy seeing what they can create on their own.

Having extra stickers and scrapbook paper on hand will allow my students to always have the supplies needed for them to express their creativity.

The stickers and scrapbook paper will be used to personalize the students' Writer's Notebook and holiday crafts. In addition to that, these craft supplies will be used across all subject areas throughout the school year for projects.
