Help me give my students the tools they need to learn basic cooking/baking skills. With the help of the Air Fryer/Toaster Oven I can teach my autism class basic cooking skills to help them be successful and independent.
The materials and supplies that I am requesting for my students are to enhance my fun Friday with "Fun Food Friday." I would like to incorporate cooking and baking with weekly recipes and and letting my students actually bake and complete a recipe from start to finish. With the help of measuring cups, spoons, and mixing bowls students will learn how to measure and follow a recipe. Having a multi-use oven like the Air Fryer/Toaster Oven I requested will help with a variety of recipes and be easy and effective to use. The cabinet would be nice to keep everything together for cooking in one place. Learning to bake is such an important skills, especially for my Autism class. My students learn more than just measuring ingredients, they will learn life long skills they can take with them on the road to independence. I will use these items in my science class as well to teach them about nutrition and being healthy, among other things. I will also use this with my social skills class where they work together to gain communication and relational skills. I plan to let them share their goodies they make with our neighboring classrooms. By donating to my classroom, you will not only help students gain confidence in independent daily living skills, you will also help to increase their academic achievement as well.
