My Project

I work in an inner city school in Philadelphia where students have the opportunity to construct STEM activities. The budget for STEM is minimal and most supplies are recycled materials or teacher supplied.

This year my students are building egg drop challenge containers, Rube Goldberg machines, artbots, and many other stimulating activities.

The pride and excitement the students exhibit in their creations is infectious. Some have even stayed after to "finish just one more thing"! While most items are recycled, there is a need for wooden blocks and dowels to give structure to some of our larger Rube Goldbergs and other creations.
