My Students

Our academy is a charter school in South Central Los Angeles. We are a school that is filled with curious learners and push our students to always be their best self. Due to the families we serve, our school is built off the idea that the wellness of a child is just as important as their academic learning. We are remodeling our wellness center to provide a space for students who need support, a place to sleep, someone to talk to, or just a safe place. With where I work resources are limited, but with kind people like yourself this project can become a reality. For students to succeed in the classroom, we need to make sure they receive basic needs, love, and safety. That's what the wellness center provides.

My Project

The materials in this project will be used to create an environment for our students to use daily. The wellness center is a place for our students to use in many different ways! This space can be used for students who are dealing with any challenges and need support emotionally. The materials in this project will give the wellness director the tools to give these children what they need to express themselves in a healthy way and refocus in the classroom. Our goal is to help mold our confident strong and hard working students, not only with academic tools, but life long tools as well! With the wellness center, we can provide the safety and love our students need.
