Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Historically, the social studies classroom has been seen as the classroom where facts, dates and events rule. While we will still use facts, dates and events, we want to start changing the narrative of the classroom and start creating social studies classroom where students feel sage, welcomed and open to share, well, anything.

With that goal in mind, we want to start incorporating and creating a curriculum that incorporates wellness, mindfulness and social emotional well being activities into our history courses.

We are not experts, but have found those who are and have mad the goal easier to achieve. With your help, we hope to bet these resources and start incorporating them into our lessons ASAP.
