My Students

I teach 3rd grade ELA and Science. My students are having their first experience with departmentalized classes this year. They are excited and feeling all grown up as they go on this journey. They love to read, write, and research! They love to work in partnerships and small groups to maximize their learning. I love their enthusiasm as they discover new things on their own and as they discuss what they have learned with each other. Working with great kids like these is the reason that I became a teacher. Also, 28 years into my career, they are why I still love to go to school every day.

My Project

My students will use these chrome books in my departmentalized ELA and Science classes. They will use word processing programs to publish their writing pieces. They will do research on the web during our writing lessons to find evidence needed to support their opinions. They will also do research on various science topics that we will study including Balance and Forces, Inheritance and Traits, Weather and Natural Disasters, and Environment and Survival. We will also use the computers to go on virtual field trips to places around the world where a school bus and a bagged lunch would never allow us to go!
