Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My first graders are little people full of energy and enthusiasm to learn each day! They are curious and willing to try new things. Unfortunately due to their economic status and neighborhood they live in, their opportunities to try new things are limited.

They live in a high poverty community where they struggle to get their needs met and most of the time their educational needs are put aside.

They deserve a high quality education and classroom. They deserve to get all the supplies and resources to foster their learning each day.

My Project

My first graders will use the word building and Spanish syllable dice set activity center daily so they can become excellent readers. This is a great product to use independently and in a small group. The more they practice the more confident they will become in reading and writing.

I hope to make the students feel welcomed and valued in my classroom.

The welcome bracelets and Happy Birthday bracelets will help me ensure they feel included and know that I will be working on their individual needs as the school year progresses. My students will use the math 100 chart to improve their math skills which include, number sense, addition, subtraction, place value and much more. My first graders will be so excited for this new school year once they see these amazing items waiting for them in the classroom and how I welcome them in the classroom with the "Bienvenido" crayon set displayed outside the classroom!!
