Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The students in my class are 10 and 11-year-olds from Gardena, California. Many of the students come from low-income to working-class families with limited resources. Unable to provide for their children's educational needs, the parents rely on the school to furnish their children with the supplies and resources necessary to succeed.

It is essential to keep and maintain a clean and tidy classroom environment, especially during this time.

At our school, classrooms only get vacuumed and spot-mopped once a week. The iRobot mop will allow for a clean classroom and help to minimize the spread of germs on a daily basis. It also reduces allergy and asthma triggers. The most important benefit of a clean classroom is that it maximizes the students' learning experience. This cleaning tool will help teach our students how we can keep our learning environment clean and safe.

We have a couple of Vietnamese students in our classroom so I will have them share their experiences of celebrating Lunar New Year. Our students will learn about the different traditions to attract good luck and avoiding bad luck for the year ahead. One of the rituals and customs of the Lunar New Year is to clear out last year's trash and be ready to welcome in the new year luck and prosperity.
