This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My UTK students are a bright, curious, and diverse group of young learners who bring joy and creativity to the classroom every day. They are eager to explore, share their ideas, and learn about the world around them. What I love most is their unique personalities and how they support each other, even at such a young age. Their kindness, energy, and openness inspire me to create a space where they can thrive.
The materials I’m requesting are designed to create a welcoming and affirming classroom environment.
These items will help my students see themselves and their peers represented in the classroom, fostering a sense of pride in their identities and cultures. By incorporating these resources, students will feel valued and empowered, which is critical for building self-esteem and creating a foundation for meaningful learning.
My goal is to cultivate a classroom where every student feels represented, respected, and included. By using these materials, I aim to promote diversity, celebrate individuality, and create a safe space for students to express themselves. This project will build social-emotional skills and a strong sense of community.
My students are an incredible group of UTK learners who come from diverse backgrounds and bring unique perspectives to the classroom. They are curious, eager to learn, and full of creativity. Many are experiencing a classroom setting for the first time, and I want to ensure they feel a sense of belonging from day one. They thrive in environments where they are seen, heard, and encouraged, and this project will help provide them with the tools and experiences they deserve to succeed.
