This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

When we provide our students a place that they can call their own we provide them with a place where they can dream!

The items will help create a comfortable and inviting space for Newcomer and English learning students by providing a place where they can plan for their future, learn essential skills for their academic journey, and feel safe to discuss any matters impeding their success.

This dedicated area will help alleviate the stress of adjusting to a new environment, allowing them to focus better on their studies and personal growth.

Our goals for this project are to create a welcoming environment by establishing a warm and inviting space where newcomers and English learners feel comfortable and supported. We aim to support academic and personal growth by providing a safe area where students can receive guidance, plan their futures, and develop essential skills for their educational success. Additionally, we seek to enhance emotional well-being by allowing students to freely discuss their challenges, reducing stress and promoting mental health. Lastly, we strive to foster a sense of community and belonging, helping students feel connected and integrated within the school community and enhancing their overall experience.

Our newcomer English learners are resilient and display tremendous perseverance, facing the challenges of adjusting to a new environment with courage. They bring diverse backgrounds and unique perspectives that enrich our school community. They remain eager to learn and succeed despite various struggles, including language barriers and cultural adjustments. Your support will help create a space where they can be themselves, fostering their academic and personal growth.
