Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

High school can be scary, especially for 9th graders entering a new world. I will support these students for the next four years as I loop with them to graduation. Building a strong relationship from the start is vital.

Meeting a new a school counselor and having the courage to visit a counseling office can be daunting.

A small snack can break the ice, and receiving needed hygiene products that they may not be able to source at home will allow them to be at ease within the school’s community. My goal is to provide guidance to maneuver their fears and expectations in order to have a successful school year.

I want my students to know that I provide a safe place where they are respected, valued understood and genuinely cared for. With your generosity, I know the transition to high school will be much smoother as my students and I learn each other.
